Frequently Asked Questions
1. Will there be any pain involved with the procedure?
No, our procedures are non-invasive and will not leave you in any pain once they are complete.

2. What happens if I feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable in small spaces?
At Arango Imaging Center, we offer both high-field and medium-field MRI exams. If you feel uncomfortable in small spaces, our medium-field MRI may be an option for your exam as it will give you more space so that you can feel relaxed and comfortable throughout your procedure.

3. What if I am currently on medication and need an exam?
Depending on what type of medication you are using and what type of exam you need, Dr. Arango will provide you with directions on when you can and can not take medications prior to your exam.

4. Are there any special eating requirements before my exam?
For exams such as a CT scan or ultrasound, you may be asked not to eat or drink anything for several hours prior to your exam. This allows the doctor to produce a better image of your target area.

5. What are contrasting agents, and why do I need them?
Procedures such as MRIs and CT scans sometimes require a patient to be administered a contrast agent that will help to improve the image from the exam. The contrast agent is like a dye that can help make your veins and some of your organs more visible during the examination.

6. Will I need any recovery time afterward?
Some procedures require stillness so that we can get the best image possible of the patient. We may need to sedate small children in order for them to remain still during the exam. Once the procedure is complete, the patient can rest comfortably in our post-exam room while they quickly come out of sedation.
